- Nimbis Services, Inc. was founded in 2008 by high performance computing (HPC) industry veterans Robert Graybill and Brian Schott to act as the first nationwide brokerage and clearinghouse for a broad spectrum of Digital Analysis Computing (DAC) Services. Nimbis pre-negotiates volume-priced contracts with DAC (also called HPC) vendors so that Nimbis, through its branded service, can provide easy, affordable, reliable pay-as-you-go access to compute cycles, third-party software and expertise. Nimbis' business model is designed to make Digital Analysis Computing use attractive for many firms that could not afford HPC before. Nimbis' initial market is underserved groups in the U.S. manufacturing industry: new and less-experienced DAC users (including suppliers to Tier 1 companies that employ HPC), as well as experimental, occasional and overflow users. Nimbis represents a new, high-potential sales channel for HPC vendors interested in Nimbis' sizeable untapped target market of users ready to explore moving beyond desktop computing.
