• Red Roof Inn® was incorporated by founder James R. Trueman in 1972. The brands first hotel opened in Columbus, Ohio, with a single room rate of $8.50 in 1973. Today, Red Roof® has over 500 properties across the United States and is growing internationally with 3 locations open in Brazil, a PLUS+ property open in Osaka, Japan, and others to follow in Thailand and Canada.
