• Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County is an ecumenical Christian organization dedicated to providing affordable housing in Monmouth County and to make adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. The Ministry was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent place to live in dignity and safety. Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County (HFHMC), serving Northeast and Western Monmouth County is a newly merged affiliate of Habitat for Humanity with the mission to put God's love into action. The organization brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope and a vision of realizing a decent place to live. In 2013, the affiliate was selected as a Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project site in Union Beach to continue Sandy Relief projects in the area. The combined affiliate has built 39 new homes and assisted over 80 families in Sandy related projects in Monmouth County. The combined resources, leadership experience, and volunteer network have enabled the organization to service an expanded area and help more families return to their homes. The new affiliate now covers 83% of Monmouth County. The organization remains entrenched in storm related projects but will also look to continue new home construction. Amongst its peers, the affiliate remains one of the most productive and successful in the Northeast.
