- Jessepalooza is a rock festival started in 2010 in memory of 13 year old Jesse Alswager who died unexpectedly from his type 1 diabetes. Michelle Alswager, Jesse's mother, founded the fest in order to raise money for diabetes research and education.The goal of the event is to raise money and awareness and to create Jessepalooza branded events throughout the country by other committee members and volunteers.In 2011 Jessepalooza will expand in its origin city by adding a 5K run and a 100K metric century bike ride, a local ride and considered a destination ride for others.
