- Scottsdale Jean Company was founded in 2005. Within months, SJC grew rapidly to become the largest independently owned retailer of designer jeans and clothing in Arizona. An expansion in 2007 increased the retail space to 10,000 square feet. The move in early 2012 to Gainey Village, a much higher profile outdoor shopping center that has made SJC its centerpiece, allowed for expanded offerings, including shoes, jewelry and more. A completely redesigned website was launched shortly thereafter to fuel the expansion of Scottsdale Jean Company's online business.
