Kumari Rugs are manufactured by Tibetan and Nepalese artisans in Nepal and designed by innovative American designers. We have a combined 70 years of experience in the Tibetan rug industry. The rugs are meticulously handcrafted using Himalayan virgin wool and other natural yarns such as silk, hemp, aloe, and bamboo. The yarns are also hand carded and hand spun.Though there are many Himalayan rug distributors here in the U.S. and abroad, we at Kumari Rugs want to bring an affordable piece of art from the Himalayas that will decorate your home. You can even specify your own specific sizes, shapes and the types of yarns you want in it. We have exclusively focused our efforts on the Internet as this will allow us to reach a larger customer base and will allow you to shop from the comfort of your home at an attractive price.One distinct feature of our rugs is that as any handmade product, no two rugs are alike and each one has a story. There will be a slight variation in color as dye is mixed by hand and edges will not be precisely straight. That is the beauty of Himalayan rugs. Our manufacturing partners in Nepal are also certified by Goodweave, an international non-profit organization that monitor labor practices in South Asia. As a result, fair wages are provided to the weavers and all of our manufacturing partners are child labor free.
