• Munky King designer toys are a special collaboration between the company and the artist. Developed closely together from concept to production, the final product is always loyal to the artist's original artwork. We've worked with such renown artists as Luke Chueh, Joe Ledbetter, Kozyndan, Amanda Visell, The Coop, to name a few.Our platform toy, the Omi, blurs the line between toy and fine art with its unique display options. Inspired by Chinese opera masks, Omi takes a traditional form and infuses it with a designer toy aesthetic. Along with a DIY version, we work with many renown artists and licenses to create artist and crossover series.Munky King started from humble beginnings in 2003 with a quaint little shop in Chinatown, Los Angeles, the first of its kind in Southern California. After expanding to a gallery and flagship store on Melrose, we continued to fuel the passions of the genre with art shows, signings, releases and special events. In 2012, we've moved on from brick-and-mortar retail to focus on expanding our line of toys and working with companies and artists to develop their own products from our production studio/showroom.Munky King is also expanding into the field of animation, producing shorts with our roster of artists to bring their art to a medium accessible to a wider audience. Other projects in development include television and feature length animated programs.
