- At its founding in 2004, the year it obtained its first hedge fund administration client, SEI AFO was known as the Finance and Operations division of Archway Technology Partners; its name was later shortened to AFO. For the past decade, AFO has combined the sophisticated technology of ATWeb, SEI Archways flagship platform, with its industry knowledge and accounting expertise to seamlessly help firms execute their back office processes.AFO was acquired in July 2017 by SEI, a leading global provider of asset management, investment processing and investment operations solutions for institutional and personal wealth management, forming what is now known as SEI AFO. With the resources and expertise of the combined firms, SEI AFO will continue to provide world-class fund administration services, accounting expertise and back office processing for the accounting and investment operations of Hedge Funds, Fund of Funds, Private Equity Funds, Real Estate Funds, Managed Account Managers and Private Banks. Together with its parent SEI, the combined firms have over $500B in alternative Assets under Administration (AuA).
