• SonLight Power transforms lives with love and solar power.We apply a unique blend of love and solar power in sustainable ways to support the needs of children and their families in communities in the U.S. and worldwide without access to affordable electricity.We aim to tackle one of the world's biggest challenges. An estimated 1.4 billion people do not have access to affordable electric power, or about one of every four people on the planet. This statistic is even more alarming in developing countries, where almost 80 percent of people have no access to electricity. This lack of supply hinders the quality of medical care, obstructs education for children and makes everyday life even more challenging.SonLight Power outreach is designed so the people we serve are dependent not on us, but on each other. We seek partnerships with the people we serve and other compatible organizations to promote sustainable outcomes through solar training that builds capacity and empowers people to help themselves.SonLight Power teams connect medical clinics, schools, orphanages, community centers and churches to a 30-year supply of electricity. The solar power produced by our collaborative projects make an immediate and lasting impact. Practically speaking, they can be game-changers for communities on the edge.But SonLight Power represents more than solar power. Weve found that people in remote, off-grid areas grow up confined to their communities. They are often unaware of opportunities beyond the village, or they grow up believing those opportunities are beyond their grasp. Spiritually speaking, many lose hope.
