• Everyday, nonprofit organizations across the country are helping kids achieve. They are providing child care, tutoring, college prep, and they all have one thing in common: pizza. We call it the pizza problem. Pizza is a cheap and simple solution for organizations whose top priorities are rightly elsewhere. But the families that depend on these programs often rely on the free meals they provide just as much as the educational services, and their kids deserve healthier food. Leveraging our relationships with grocers, wholesalers, and local companies, Well­-Fed designs custom solutions to the pizza problem. We work with nonprofits to develop sustainable plans for sourcing healthier food for their students without increasing their food budget. Mission Well-Fed empowers youth-serving organizations to feed their kids better food. Vision We envision a world in which what we put in childrens bellies is as intentional as what we put in their minds. One youth-serving organization at a time, were working toward a day when every kid is well fed. Values Well-Fed aims to create food plans that feature nutritious, satisfying, whole foods. Every organization or program we work with commits to, at a minimum, meeting Well-Feds core nutritional standards. After working with Well-Fed, food they serve their students has: No artificial colors No artificial sweeteners No corn syrup Thats where we start. Of course theres a lot farther to go from there. Every organization has different priorities, concerns, and goals and were ready to find solutions that serve each organizations students, staff, and budget.
