- Joan E. Tarter-Van Hees, LCMT is a native Newporter and 2007 graduate of the Community College of Rhode Island Therapeutic Massage Program. She is certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), licensed by the State of Rhode Island and recently received prenatal certification in MotherMassage ®: Massage During Pregnancy. Joan is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and the Crisis Massage Team of Rhode Island. She serves on the Planning Committee for the AMTA New England Regional Conference (NERC) and the Board of Directors for the AMTA Rhode Island Chapter (RIAMTA).Joan's goal is to create a safe, nurturing environment in which the client can relax and heal. Her intention is always to apply therapeutic touch with your well-being at heart.
