• We are a single person LLC whose mission is to help organizations of all sizes and types in multiple industries develop and implement the operational innovations required to drive the accelerated maturation and adoption of transformative advanced manufacturing technologies. We work with manufacturing companies, applied research and development (R&D) organizations, and economic development agencies who want to transform traditional manufacturing operations into technology and talent differentiated advanced manufacturing enterprises and ecosystems. Our role is to work with these organizations to co-develop customized solutions using proven systems engineering based approaches that allow them to address their biggest pain points by leveraging our unique technical expertise, deep domain knowledge of industry best practices, and a proven track record of developing and implementing operational innovations with little or no precedent. We accomplish this by providing comprehensive consulting services that enable clients to improve their strategic planning and roadmapping activities, develop business plans for manufacturing innovation, mitigate product development risk, streamline operational performance, reduce hidden factory costs, implement advanced manufacturing technologies, and/or up-skill their workforce to accelerate product and manufacturing innovation. We are knowledgeable in several emerging and traditional manufacturing technology areas that include physics-based modeling and simulation, digital thread and digital twin, additive manufacturing and 3D printing, collaborative industrial robotics, precision machining, joining, casting, composite, printed circuit board, and MEMS sensor fabrication processes. Dr. Al Sanders founded Design-Vantage Technologies, LLC in 2013 after working over 20 years in the aerospace and defense industry driving operational innovations with little or no precedent for a Fortune 100 company at a time when that industry needed to stay on the bleeding edge of technology to be competitive. Over the course of his career he has had the opportunity to work across nearly all phases of product development for mechanical and electronic systems and has held technical leadership roles in advanced technology, advanced manufacturing, component design and analysis, engineering tools and design methods, test and evaluation, and Six Sigma. He uses this uniquely-wide depth and breath of real-world industry experience to help clients pinpoint high-impact product development and manufacturing areas where operational innovations are needed to drive growth.
