• 1 in 4 inner-city youth witnesses a murder by 17. 1 in 3 suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. Yet with one counselor to every 500 students in the average urban school district, most youth are not getting the support they need. Our mission is to help youth recover from trauma. We provide personalized mental health coaching to high school students over text message. Our trained coaches check in with youth daily and help youth build positive coping skills for managing traumatic stress. By meeting youth where they are, we are making mental health support accessible to all youth. One of our users has said: Everyone goes through stuff, and some people shut down like I would have. [MindRight] helps me get back up again. Our partners span schools and community organizations in Washington, DC, Philadelphia, PA, Camden, NJ, and Newark, NJ.
