- The Germantown Performing Arts Center (GPAC) opened in 1994 with a gala performance by Ray Charles and has never looked back. GPAC presents world-class artists in classical music, jazz, dance, musical theater and world music. Performers on the GPAC stage have included such luminaries as Dave Brubeck, Joshua Bell, Ramsey Lewis, Dianne Schuur, and the Paul Taylor Dance Company, The 824-seat, acoustically perfect venue is home to the IRIS Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Michael Stern. In addition to its main stage performances, GPAC also offers education programs for students and adults and the popular Jazz in the Box series in the Black Box Theatre.
