The company began in 1993 as a division of a building service contracting company called Easy Janitor. In 1996, Easy Janitor began selling to the public, and at the time, Shelley Riley was appointed general manager of the business. After several years of steady growth, as well as undergoing a thorough re-branding to become what is now Maintenance Mart, Shelley and her husband, Al Kraus, bought the company and became the primary owners. Shelley is now the CEO and Al serves as the CFO.
