• Dedicated to providing our countrys rising stars with elite training, COSI affords young singers the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the language and the culture that produced Italian opera. An intensive summer program, COSI stands apart from other proficiency courses of its kind, it alone succeeds in filling a distinct gap by fostering young Canadians opera talent in an international setting. Open to both professional and amateur performers who possess talent and passion for opera, COSI is uncompromising in its pursuit of the highest degree of artistic excellence. This achievement attracts a distinguished faculty comprised of some of Canadas most creative talents from the world of opera and theatre production. The faculty members individual reputations, coupled with the superior quality of directing staff and coaches, provides a nurturing environment where the artistry of these gifted young singers can blossom. Mandate: a. To educate and increase the public's understanding and appreciation of music by providing performances in public places, churches, community centres and educational institutions; b. To educate and increase the public's understanding and appreciation of music by providing seminars on topics relating to such performances; c. To provide instructional seminars on topics related to music; and d. To produce music performances for the purposes of educating and advancing the public's understanding and appreciation of music and to educate artists through participation in such performances and related workshops.
