- Sandcastle is the restaurant located on the big beach at Lake Nokomis. Locally owned by three Minneapolis residents one of whom, Doug Flicker, has been cooking and running restaurants in Minneapolis for over 2 decades. Partnered with his wife, Amy Greeley, and friend, Chele Payer, they are bringing good quality food and an inventive menu with beer and wine to the Minneapolis park at Lake Nokomis. Sandcastle aims to be as near zero-waste as possible and follows a re-use, recycle or compost philosophy. Almost all that is served at Sandcastle (including plates, silverware, and cups) can be composted or re-used. We also aim to support the local economy by serving local produce and products when possible.
