• The Chain Collaborative is a US-based 501(c)(3) founded in 2014 whose mission is to invest in Change Leaders in the coffee lands to drive grassroots development in their own communities. We believe that if we support a communitys vision by investing in leaders who are committed and driven to see change, we build more equitable and sustainable communities with the beneficiaries at the helm of their own initiatives. The most critical way TCC is able to realize our work is by partnering with community-based organizations such as coffee cooperatives, like-minded non-profit organizations, as well as businesses and individuals to realize locally-led solutions to development. We believe in collaboration. We believe in collective impact. Most of all, we believe in empowerment. What We Do: Invest We believe that all communities deserve access to the resources they need to succeed and lead the life they imagine. Our Investment Projects involve forging direct partnerships with Change Leaders in coffee-dependent communities; TCC identifies, invests in and supports Change Leaders to implement their own community projects focused around education, water, livelihoods and gender equity. What We Do: Consult We build capacity in resource-strapped organizations to support their efforts to empower the communities they serve. Our Consulting Projects involve indirect partnerships with coffee communities; TCC fills gaps and provides professional services to organizations with existing ties to coffee-growing communities. Since 2014, we have partnered with 13 organizations to raise $557,415.06 for projects that have reached 48,827 beneficiaries in 8 countries.
