• PLATTCO Corporation specializes in engineering and manufacturing double flap valves and slide gates to solve problems in solid material conveying, processing, metering and isolation in a wide variety of industrial applications. We began as a gray iron foundry in Plattsburgh, New York in 1897 producing drainage castings, stock valves and other machined castings for the paper, mining and other regional industries . PLATTCO designed and engineered the first Double Flap Airlock® Valves in the 1960s and 1970s to solve leakage problems in with sintering and pelletizing in the mining industry, and for the handling of cement clinker. In the 1980s the PLATTCO Airlock® was sold to and became the standard for companies such as Ogden Martin and American Refuel to solve problems handling fly ash in energy plants built throughout the United States. Over the years, our valves have become the standard of excellence in dozens of difficult applications, in a multitude of industries, throughout the world. We have established a worldwide reputation for correcting process design problems for applications which involve high temperature, high pressure and/or abrasive materials. PLATTCO is an integrated manufacturer, with an engineering department, pattern shop, foundry and machine shop covering more than 60,000 square feet. We have the ability to cast and machine the different types of metal alloys required for the complete manufacture of both Airlock® and Isolation valves. We own several U.S. and International patents and is the premier innovator in the solid materials handling valve business. These capabilities give PLATTCO the ability to solve specific application problems through customized design, and to provide these solutions to our customers with a very short lead-time.
