• Youth Development Organization, Inc. (YDO) is a citywide non-profit organization committed to providing enrichment activities and long-term support for motivated students in Lawrence, MA. YDO invests heavily in individuals and, in turn, fosters a culture of participation and learning that develops their strengths and helps them build personal stories of success, which are essential for lives of pride and accomplishment. Students and families understand YDOs commitment to helping young people grow beyond the constraints of poverty, and they have responded by embracing the opportunities and supporting each other. In that way, while the organization continues to grow, the community gathers strength even beyond the umbrella of YDO.YDO serves low-income, mostly Hispanic middle- and high-school students in Lawrence. Through the course of a year, more than 250 students are provided opportunities to participate in out-of-school enrichment programs. YDO seeks to establish long-term partnerships that create pipelines to the very best educational and experiential activities for motivated Lawrence students who would otherwise not have the access or means to participate.
