• In 1971, a man named Jack Mizrahi had a dream: How can I make footwear that will be affordable to the people that really need them? Armed only with a couple of second-hand sewing machines and a guiding principle to stick with what you do best, he set out to make that dream a reality.After starting out in a two room facility in West Babylon, Jack quickly became the go to person in the popular priced slipper market and by 1988 was a presence in every shop in America where value was a virtue. With success came a need to expand, both manufacturing facilities and also overseas. Jacks son Charles Mizrahi was brought into the family business to help spearhead the next step forward into overseas production. Under Charles guidance, Wiesner has grown exponentially and now manufactures products in over 20 countries around the world.Today, Wiesner employs over a thousand people worldwide and prides itself on its ability to meet the demands of the full spectrum of American retailing, from specialty shops to mass market.
