• Since 1993, the Ecumenical Shelter Network of Lake County, Inc., has served the homeless in Northeast Ohio with the mission of responding to the human hurts and hopes of persons in Lake County who are homeless by providing emergency shelter, care, and guidance in the name and for the sake of Jesus Christ. To accomplish this, the Network operates: 1 - Project Hope for the Homeless is the only emergency shelter in Lake County and serves guests from Lake, Cuyahoga, Geauga, and Ashtabula counties, among others. This nightly program has provided shelter, care, and guidance for guests bodies and souls, and has helped more than 5,000 individuals since it opened. 2 - In 2007, the Aftercare program was established to provide support to guests for up to one year after leaving the shelter. Today, more than 100 individuals participate each year, and benefit from care packages, social groups, workshops, case management, and rental subsidies to help them continue to thrive after leaving the shelter. 3 - Families Moving Forward was launched in January 2013 to provide a safe, daytime option for families staying at the shelter. Children find snacks and places to play, study, and nap. Parents find the care they need to improve their lives, help their children handle the trauma of homelessness and go from homeless to housed.
