• Believing in the dignity of all people, the objective of REAL Services is to assist in establishing a community in which those we serve can maintain their independence to the maximum degree possible and find meaning and satisfaction throughout their lives.To fulfill our mission, the programs we offer enhance quality of life. Additional programs provide education for individuals and families through Options Counseling, Aging and Disability Resource Center, Lunch n Learns, Boomer Bootcamp, Chronic Disease Management, Medicare Counseling, Financial Literacy, and more.REAL Services is an umbrella organization for more than 20 programs that assist elderly, disabled and low-income individuals in 12 Northern Indiana County. Our programs address the needs of education, nutrition, self-sufficiency, and protection for 30,000 people in northern Indiana each year. REAL Services has three divisions: Area Agency on Aging, Community Action Agency, and Alzheimers Services. These three divisions serve vulnerable older adults and low-income persons of all ages. The emphasis of the Area Agency on Aging is to assist older people to maintain independence as much as possible. The emphasis of the Community Action Agency is to assist low-income families to achieve self-sufficiency. Alzheimers Services of Northern Indiana provides support to those suffering from dementia.REAL Services is the Area Agency on Aging for the Older Americans Act which builds a network of services for older adults and the physically disabled. Community Services programs, which support single parents and low-income families, are designed to break the cycle of dependence on public assistance.REAL Services exists as a unique organization with a network of unduplicated services. These cost-effective programs are designed to enhance or enable self-sufficiency while making a lasting difference in peoples lives and the health of the community.
