• The Northwest Parkinsons Foundation (NWPF) is the only independent regional Parkinson's organization serving the entire Northwest region. NWPF aims to establish optimal quality of life for the Northwest Parkinson's community through awareness, education, advocacy and care.NWPF was founded in 1998 with the vision of helping people with Parkinsons & their caregivers live their best with Parkinsons today, anticipating the cure tomorrow. NWPF achieves its mission by supporting specialty care, producing & distributing free educational & support resources, raising awareness & developing self-care tools that help improve quality of life for people with Parkinsons, their families & caregivers.Since its beginning NWPF has played a vital role in supporting the Northwest Parkinsons community. NWPFs strong partnership with Evergreen Healthcare led to the establishment of the Booth Gardner Parkinsons Care Center in 2001. The Center has grown into a state-of-the-art neurological care center.NWPF is a founding member of the Alliance of Independent Regional Parkinson Organizations (AIRPO) that came together in 2014. NWPF joins four other founding organizations from across the United States & are supported by the Parkinson's Disease Foundation. NWPF is a founding member of AIRPO because we believe that by working together, we can better leverage the unique expertise that each organization has. This will enrich our program offerings & allow us to better serve the Northwest Parkinson's community.NWPF plays a vital role in helping people with Parkinsons live meaningfully with the disease. The information that the Foundation provides gives patients & their families the tools they need to find quality medical care, better manage their disease & take charge of their daily lives. Our work also extends to healthcare providers & seeks to build awareness among the general public in order to create a continuum of care sensitive & beneficial to the Parkinsons community.
