• The Foundation for Earth Science (FES) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to advance Earth science information best practices in an open, transparent fashion for the purpose of increasing understanding of our planet. To achieve this goal, we collaborate with scientists, academic institutions and research laboratories who are addressing some of the fundamental questions about Earth. Based in Boulder, Colorado, FES employs a small, talented staff committed to innovation, discovery and enabling scientists to do their best work.FES has broad expertise in guiding vision and strategy, supporting aligned activities, establishing shared measurement practices, and providing logistics, administrative assistance, technology and communications support. By working within and across the Earth science research, data and technology communities, FES identifies opportunities to leverage existing assets toward solutions that can be adopted by others. Our work benefits the Earth science data community by facilitating and creating Earth science information best practices in an open, transparent fashion by building strategic communities through using in-person and virtual technical meetings that enable scientists and organizations achieve their mission and strategic goals.
