- Attorney Rick Lougee has conducted over 200 felony jury trials in his career, including capital murder cases and sex crimes against children. He first began defending allegations of the sexual abuse of children in 1982 and has been instrumental in developing a national network of lawyers and experts to confront the difficulties in defending these cases. He has spoken at seminars in several states for attorneys handling sex cases and has published on the subject. Mr. Lougee has also lectured at the University of Arizona College of Law and regularly consults on criminal law matters. Mr. Lougee has been continually recognized by his peers in the legal community. In 1989, he received the second highest overall score on his bar examination with the State Bar of Arizona. Martindale Hubbell has designated Mr. Lougee with an AV-rating, its highest, and currently lists him in its Bar Registry of Preeminent Lawyers.* He is listed in the June 2008 issue of Southwest Super Lawyers. Mr. Lougee has also been the recipient of the 2002 Champions of Justice Award given by the Pima County Consolidated Justice Courts and the 2003 John J. Flynn Lifetime Achievement Award from the Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice.
