Center For Faithjustice

Description

• The Center for FaithJustice provides transformative experiences of faith in action, serves those in need, educates for justice, and empowers people to change the world. Our mission at CFJ is to incubate the next generation of inspired servant leaders. Rooted in the Catholic tradition, our programs affirm the essential relationship between what we believe and how we live. We join the words Faith and Justice into a single term to reflect our conviction that faith and justice are intimately bound together. Rooted in the core values of faith, service, justice, and community, our programs - ServiceworX, JusticeworX, and LeaderworX create a space for participants to serve those in need, participate in prayer and reflection and engage in critical thought-concerning justice issues. Over the years, our organization has hosted more than 3,000 young people whom have completed, collectively, more than 100,000 hours of community service. Our alumni have gone on to become impressive servant leaders in many diverse fields ranging from international aid to corporate America. While a lot of organizations provide volunteer opportunities to young people, what distinguishes the Center for FaithJustice is an emphasis on meaningful service and in-depth faith formation. Rather than just a voluntourism approach to those in need, we expose our participants to the systemic causes of poverty right in our own backyard, inform them with ideals in Catholic Social Teaching, and challenge them to become agents for social change. The Center for FaithJustice is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) public charity.
