Underground utility works, extensive concrete placements and precast concrete installations. Vaults, catch basins and large scale road box culverts are the norm.Electrical sub-station foundation, footer, slab work, caissons, vaults, tremwah installations, carpentry, frame work and an array of other tasks are performed.Ironwood is equipped with ground penetrating radar systems (GPR) to pinpoint buried utility locations. From hand held wand GPR units to larger carrying systems we can accommodate your sub-station needs. The Civil Division supporting utility companies in multiple states. Since 2014 the crews of Ironwood have been involved with over 40 sub-station projects with more recently awarded and on the horizon.IRONWOOD HEAVY HIGHWAY LLC has a Vegetation Management Division performing utility line clearance tree trimming operations for many major electrical utilities in multiple states. Within this Division is the herbicide application group consisting of multiple state certified class 6A applicators. Contracted on an annual basis to service thousands of acres of herbicide application.The IRONWOOD HEAVY HIGHWAY LLC Environmental Division supports matting support in the New England area with multiple utility projects operating at any given time. Ironwood owns tens of thousands of hardwood, 3ply mats, timber mats and bridging timbers.Since 2011 Ironwood Heavy Highway has been an A Rated contractor with ISNetworld. The Ironwood management team consists of industry professionals with recognized certifications and degrees in engineering, environmental sciences, forestry, safety, construction and equipment. Together they are the leaders and support team for the 225 dedicated field workers.Ironwood ownership and safety management are actively engaged in the ANSI Z133 arboricultural safety committee. The Safety Director regularly contributes topical articles for the various tree care industry magazines.
