• West Metro Fire Protection District is a full-service, all-hazard, fire and rescue agency. West Metro Fire Rescue (WMFR) was created in 1995 after the community voted to consolidate the Lakewood Fire Protection District and Bancroft Fire Protection District. Service AreasWest Metro Fire Rescue is a special district government agency providing fire and rescue services to 247,648 people. The district covers more than 110 square miles. We serve the following areas:~ City of Lakewood ~ Town of Morrison ~ Parts of the cities of Golden and Wheat Ridge~ Parts of unincorporated Littleton and Jefferson County~ Roxborough communities and Waterton Canyon (Douglas County) West Metro Fire also has a Training & Event Center, which opened in September 2009. Our Training & Event Center is located in Lakewood, Colorado approximately 15 miles southwest of Downtown Denver, right off of the 285 Corridor.Our Training & Event Center offers meeting space and training facilities to public and private organizations for rental use. We have six meeting rooms, along with a small conference room. These include a variety of features, including a tiered room, practical room, video conferencing room, and multi-room configuration.StaffWest Metro Fire Rescue has 303 full-time firefighters who staff 15 stations and 49 civilian staff members.Board of DirectorsWest Metro Fire Rescue is governed by a public-elected seven member Board of Directors that oversees the budget and establish policy.
