Those decades, however, have seen a steady evolution, as the organization repeatedly transformed itself to meet the needs of its constituent theatres and their audiences.Thirty years later, Washingtons theatre community is among the largest and most successful in the nation. It enlivens and enriches the capital area, anchoring neighborhoods and fueling the economy.
