- Windlift develops mobile airborne wind energy systems for the defense and disaster relief markets. Windlift's technology uses a tethered airfoil to replace the large tower and blades found on a traditional wind turbine. The heavy generator and transmission can then be located at ground level, enabling the entire system to be mounted to a trailer. This mobility allows Windlift's systems to deliver dispatchable renewable energy to any location. This enables military and disaster relief operators to divert fuel from generators to more mission-critical functions, saving money and increasing operational flexibility.
