• Rache Corporation is a laser application firm specializing in thin-material laser cutting, laser welding and laser marking. Common methods of fabricating precise shapes from thin material includes chemical etching, die-stamping, machining or wire EDM. Rache developed a thin material cutting process when the company identified customers who required thin-material shapes from foils up to 0.090 thick in ferrous materials. Non-ferrous thicknesses range from foils up to 0.030 thick.Many people associate the use of lasers to fabricate and weld thin-metal shapes with high costs, long lead-times and complex machinery. This is simply not the case. Over 20 years ago, Rache Corporation developed a laser process that produces thin-metal shapes at a lower cost than conventional methods.Laser cut thin materials exhibit smooth, square edges with no edge deformation (roll-off) as observed in stamping and no edge factor as observed in chemical etching. Inside corner radii can be held to 0.001 and holes can be drilled down to 0.001 in diameter, depending upon the material. In addition, our CAD-to-motion process allows for easy changes to prototype designs without the need for new tooling. The benefit is lower R&D cost and less time-to-market. The typical lead time is 3 to 4 working days for short run production.
