• SALT DESIGN STUDIO is a landscape architecture practice committed to transformation, revitalization and reclamation of urban and community spaces. We bring an ethnographic approach to design, engaging the physical, visual and historical culture of a site.As elemental to our survival as salt, landscapes play a major role in shaping how we interact, both publicly and privately. SALT DESIGN STUDIO recognizes that we are affected daily by the condition and perceived economic and ecological value of the landscape around us. In this sense, landscape has become the environmental currency of the 21st century, not unlike the historical service of salt. The landscape is at once profit and habitat for humans, animals, plants and even objects. Our design ideas spring from the conviction that the designed landscape is inseparable from what makes us human. Context creates messages; we create designs rooted in the fundamentals of each site. SALT DESIGN STUDIO strives to restore energy and vibrance, create inspiring form and texture, and find meaning in the natural ecology of a place.SALT DESIGN STUDIO is based in the Philadelphia metropolitan region.
