- Affordable housing is scarce in US cities, and growing scarcer. Healthy Homeworks is a nonprofit dedicated to bringing safe, healthy, affordable urban housing back to the United States by helping landlords and tenants work together to restore urban neighborhoods blighted by bedbugs, lead paint poisoning, and the tension that accompanies housing insecurity. We need your help to open our bed factory, a collaborative community space where volunteers can build their own free beds, complete with new mattresses and bedbug-proof encasements.
