He started his career with Aetna Life and Casualty as a Tax Sheltered Annuity and Deferred Compensation specialist working in the Salt Lake brokerage office with responsibilities for brokers in Utah and Idaho. He qualified for his insurance and securities licenses in 1973.In 1978, he helped form Income Builders, Inc., a national insurance marketing organization, which specializes in brokering life insurance and annuity products. Mr. Hansen currently serves as President of Income Builders. Income Builders has won numerous awards with the various insurance companies it represents, including winning the first prestigious Chairman's Trophy from LifeUSA(now Allianz). The Chairman's Trophy is awarded annually to the Field Marketing Organization that in the Company's estimation has contributed most significantly to the Company's growth. Mr. Hansen served for two years on the Shareholder Advisory Board of LifeUSA, which he chaired in his second year. He assisted LifeUSA in designing the first bonus annuity program to be offered nationally in the insurance industry. This bonus annuity contributed greatly to the success of LifeUSA, which was subsequently purchased by Allianz SE, one of the world's largest insurance conglomerates.Mr. Hansen has been a member of the Million Dollar Round Table for three years, including a court of the table qualification. He is also a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
