- The Trails of Madison County is jointly sponsored by Madison County, Sugar City, and Rexburg to promote the development of pedestrian and bike trails. The volunteer committee sponsors the annual fund raiser, The Great Spud Race, each Fall. The committee meets twice a month to plan and coordinate activities. Since it founding in 2000, the committee has raised funds and promoted the development of a 3 mile pedestrian/Bike path between Rexburg and Sugar City. It has also developed similar paths along the Teton River including bridges across the river and irrigation canals. The committee has promoted the striping of bike lanes through out both cities.
