- Directors Video, Inc. began life as Directors Video Services in 1984. Paul Murphey and Tim Prince partnered in the venture to provide Video Assist Services for the Hollywood film industry. We quickly began design of our first video assist package for the movie Rocky IV which began shooting in the winter of 1984. DVS provided Video Assist Services on many feature films over the next ten years, and at the end of 1994 Tim and Paul ended their partnership. In 1995 Tim began his new job at Sony Studios, and Paul went on to form Directors Video, Inc.
