    Description

    • Surgery On Sunday, Inc. (SOS) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides medically essential outpatient procedures to the uninsured and uninsured who are not eligible for government assistance. Changing lives one surgery at a time, SOS relies on over 400 volunteers including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, scrub techs, social workers, administrative and custodial personnel, who have donated over 95,000 hours, to care for patients the third Sunday of each month. The surgical home of SOS is the Lexington Surgery Center and has been since inception in 2005. To date, nearly 5,800 patients have been provided surgery at no cost. SOS cares for income eligible patients within a 250 mile radius of Lexington, Kentucky.
