- The Holt family first got in the tire business when Holt Firestone was opened on Hubble Avenue in East Des Moines in 1927. Since then it has diversified into different divisions still in the tire industry.Holt Sales Inc. was started as a spinoff of the original Holt Tire in 1996 and originally sold reconditioned trailer wheels. As the business grew, there was a demand for a complete, trailer tire and wheel assembly for the OEM trailer industry, in the upper Midwest. Holt Sales rose to the opportunity and concentrated on bringing an excellent service to the wholesale market for ST tire and wheel assemblies.Around the year 2000, Holt Sales also expanded heavily into the small agricultural market supplying manufacturers with a quality product that they could rely on. The next decade would see Holt Sales move to a new mounting and distribution facility six blocks east of the Iowa State Capitol and shorten their name to HSI.The future looks excellent here at HSI Tire as we continue to provide solutions and excellent service through our knowledgeable team members to each of our valued customers.
