- The KidStrings Method is a child-centered, self-directed approach to learning stringed instruments which leads each child to take responsibility for teaching himself or herself, to explore and create, to ask why and to be responsible for mastering developmentally appropriate techniques and skills. Together, we develop and environment of excellence where students experience the satisfaction of accomplishing difficult things and foster a love for music. A parent attends and participates in all classes and guides home practice. Learning with peers offers support to both parent and child. From the very beginning students learn to be comfortable playing for others. KidStrings utilizes both Suzuki and Kodaly approaches to early music education for children ages four through ten.
