    • Women Giving Back was founded in June 2007, by a core group of building industry sales and marketing professionals. The goal initially was to supplement the great work HomeAid Northern Virginia does in renovating shelters by helping transitionally homeless women and children get on their feet with clothes to help them enter the workplace and fit in at school. Since June of 2015, WGB has been a standalone 501c3 and continues to expand its outreach in the Greater DC Metro area. We have grown from working from the back of a small retail operation to now where we have over 14,000 square feet of warehouse, boutique and available office space. These women can shop for all kinds of clothing (including childrens) and accessories without charge. Our volunteers conduct clothing drives and organize the clothing. They assist and support WGB when are benefactors arrive. The Store is now open the Friday preceding the second Saturday of each month, as well as the second and third Saturday of each month. Our Friday hours are from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM and on Saturdays from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. WGB The Store is located at 20 Export Drive, Sterling, VA. Women from 100 shelters and programs are invited to shop each month. Their smiles are all the thanks our volunteers need. WGB has distributed over 500,000 items of clothing to more than 23,000 women and 15,300 children from over 100 shelters in Northern Virginia. Our story wouldn't be possible without the wonderful volunteers. We were able to log approximately 12,000 volunteer hours in 2016. The Store is very successful helping women get professional clothing, and we have to restock each month. We need continual donations of good quality clothing to support our program.
