• The mission of the Good News Project is THREE-FOLD:WE PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR SHORT-TERM DIRECT PERSONAL SERVICEMany people who are unable to spend years in the Peace Corps or similar volunteer organizations are very willing to share their time and talents in short term service. Good News Project has discovered that this opportunity appeals to a wide range of adults, from college age to retirees. Most of the volunteers/travelers spend two weeks in the West Indies in January or February. What began as a small, Catholic, parish project has become a much larger international interfaith service project.WE DELIVER SUPPORT TO THE UNDERPRIVILEGED IN THE WEST INDIESWith the space available in our warehouse, we have been able to accept many valuable gifts hundreds of school desks, hospital beds, medical and surgical equipment and supplies, huge pallets of paper even a set of church pews. We accept all sizes of donations such as school supplies, household items and medical items and we are able to ship these to schools, nursing homes and clinics in the West Indies. WE SERVE THE COMMUNITIES OF NORTH-CENTRAL WISCONSINLocally our warehouse contains many medical items that we lend out to those in our community through our Health Equipment Lending Program. Our HELP closet makes available wheelchairs, hospital beds, commodes, walkers and crutches, along with various other medical support items for short-term use or long-term use (purchase). A tax-free donation is suggested.
