• The AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) is the Midwests largest private source of philanthropic support for HIV/AIDS and a leading force for HIV/AIDS advocacy in the United States. AFC maintains a vast and complex network of services for people living with HIV. We connect people to care and housing support. We research cutting-edge prevention and treatment methods. Steadfastly, we stand with the 25,000 HIV-positive people in Chicago. AFC manages and evaluates the Northeastern Illinois HIV/AIDS Case Management Cooperative, which oversees case management for more than 5,000 people per year. In addition to state and national policy advocacy, AFC also promotes HIV prevention and fights stigma globally. Founded in 1985 by community activists and physicians, AFC currently has about 80 employees working in its headquarters on Chicagos South Loop.
