    Description

    • Ariste Medical, LLC is a preclinical stage company dedicated to evolving implantable medical devices by adding drug elution technology that significantly reduces common device complications due to restenosis (improper healing), thrombosis (blood clotting) and infection. Ariste has successfully developed a drug-eluting coating for PTFE, commonly known as Teflon or Gore-Tex, which is a universally used medical device material that is biologically inert and resistant to coating. By incorporating existing, FDA-approved anti-proliferative and/or anti-infective pharmaceutical agents into our proprietary polymer coating, we have achieved predictable elution rates, capable of adhering to non-metal implantable devices. Until now, the only FDA-approved drug-eluting technology has been applied to metal stents mainly used in coronary angioplasty. These devices have been highly effective, widely adopted, and now represent multi-billion dollar markets. The technology developed by Ariste will alter the surgical landscape, as it translates the success of drug-elution technology to other non-metal implantable medical devices.
