• Novas Energy North America (NENA) is the exclusive provider of Plasma Pulse Enhanced Oil Recovery Technology in the US, Canada & Mexico. Developed in Russia with 9 patents globally, Plasma Pulse Technology applies to a plasma source for generating nonlinear, wide-band, periodic, directed, elastic oscillations and a system and method for stimulating wells, deposits and boreholes using the plasma source. The treatment is administered using an electric wireline conveyed plasma pulse generator that is run in the well and positioned alongside the perforations. Using energy stored in the generators capacitors, a plasma arc is created that emits a tremendous amount of heat and pressure for a fraction of a second. This in turn creates a broad band of hydraulic impulse acoustic waves that are powerful enough to clean perforations and near wellbore damage. These waves continue to resonate deep into the reservoir, exciting the fluid molecules and increasing the reservoirs natural resonance to the degree it creates micro fractures and increases the mobility of hydrocarbons. This increased resonance lasts for up to twelve months after the treatment and effects the reservoir thousands of feet from the treated wellbore. Plasma Pulse Technology has been successfully used on both producing and injection wells. It has proven very successful in increasing production from previously fracked wells that have significantly declined from initial production rates. Over 350 successful treatments have been performed in the eastern hemisphere and an SPE Paper 175264 was recently published and presented about a treatment done for the Kuwait Oil Company. Recent treatments in the US and Canada have increased production up to 10 times pretreatment production rates.
