• Empowering Epilepsy is a non profit public charity organization promoting the empowerment of people with epilepsy and their families. Our mission is to enable people with epilepsy to take charge of their lives. We strive to create a caring community in Northeastern Ohio to help enrich the lives of those who have experienced epilepsy and positively focus on their mind, body, spirit and life. We hold support groups for People with Epilepsy, Parents of Children with Epilepsy and Teens with Epilepsy to help them find ways to live well with epilepsy. We also create conferences where people can learn more about living well with epilepsy and find ways to lessen their seizures. On March 26 annually, we celebrate Purple Day, an international epilepsy awareness day started by an 8 year old girl in Canada. Empowering Epilepsy holds an annual party to bring people who understand epilepsy together and allow them to have fun. Also, to celebrate November as Epilepsy Awareness Month, we hold an Epilepsy Awareness Month celebration to provide another opportunity to bring people who understand epilepsy together. Our main goal is to show people with epilepsy that they are not alone and help them discover what they can do to empower their life.
