• True Star Foundation (TSF) is a nonprofit organization that provides a creative outlet in the form of literary and professional development programs for youth. True Star was created to provide teens with employment, communication skills, and professional development as well as give teens a way to let their voices be heard and prepare them to be responsible adults leading productive lives.TSF strives to be a leader in youth programming by providing youth with paid apprenticeships that encourage creating opportunities for themselves and their communities. Our mission is to demonstrate healthy transitions for youth coming into early adulthood by exposing them to real world experiences in the workforce through the development of their own media and being an intricate part of the strategic direction and overall business operations of the organization. True Star educates and trains program participants, while promoting positive engagement through writing, editing, designing, marketing and selling advertising space for True Star Magazine, True Star Radio, Truestaris.com and True Star Jr. Magazine. True Star offers an alternative to the negative images of urban youth in today's media. Through various programming, we offer unique opportunities for youth to create and be the center of their media. With this, they learn skills in advising and executing business strategy, advertising sales, marketing, and the conclusive direction of the brand and publication.
