    • The Harvard Common Press of Boston, MA, is one of the nations leading publishers of high-quality cookbooks and parenting books. The companys books have earned rave reviews from the media, with several titles that have sold more than one million copies. Its cookbooks have received multiple awards and nominations from the James Beard Foundation and IACP (International Association of Culinary Professionals). A recent series in Cooking Light magazine named the top 100 cookbooks of the past 25 years, and included four of the presss titles. The companys parenting books have won numerous awards, too, in some years making up more than half of Lamaze Internationals Ten Top Recommended Resources list. The press was a pioneer in adapting its content beyond the printed page via mobile, web, and ebook. In recent years the company has played a leading role in connecting consumers and the media to its books and authors across social media channels. The company was among the first publishers to recognize the importance of partnering with food bloggers for editorial and marketing purposes. As this digital integration evolved into the companys everyday business, the presss principals formed HCP Investors, which made a financial investment in Yummly, an intelligent recipe search platform, and in several other food-centered content, commerce, and technology startups, including Caviar, which was acquired by Square in 2014. More recently, they co-founded Salt Venture Partners, which makes similar investments. Adjacent to the presss offices is the Food Loft, founded by the company in 2013, which is the leading co-working space for food startups in Boston. Today, the company continues its long tradition of publishing award-winning and acclaimed print and digital content in the cookbook arena, while also working with partners in the food startup space to find opportunities for partnership and investment that complement and grow its overall business and publishing program.
