The concept of a single-dose, multiple-medication heart compound was first proposed in the British Medical Journal in 2003 by Doctors Nick Wald and M.R. Law. That meta-analysis was followed up with a double-blind field study of more than 2,000 at-risk patients in India, published in The Lancet in 2009. The results were compelling enough that a follow-up is being performed now, with additional studies in the works.
