Description

Project Recycle is a Douglas county based 501(c)3 public charity. We improve youth pride, responsibility, freedom, respect, and appreciation, through the simple vehicle of a bicycle while assisting in the battle against obesity and improving our environment. We do this by not only giving a bicycle, but by providing education on how to maintain it and how to use it safely. We seek to provide group rides/events, classes on maintenance, safety and more.We distribute refurbished bikes, new helmets, bike locks, and bike lights directly to children during our planed events or Indirectly through partnerships with other organizations that share our mission.We host several annual events; Community Bike Fairs in the spring Build a Bike late summer and Bikes for Tykes for Christmas. We aim to fulfill the unmet needs of underprivileged, abused or neglected children throughout Colorado. Through Project Recycle, we are better able to teach how a bicycle promotes healthy living and exercise while practicing environmental responsibility.Additionally, we conduct an educational series. Weekly classes aimed at providing participants an opportunity to learn a trade and earn a certification
